Dining Experience
At Lakeside we understand that your dining experience is a time for you to socialize with friends, enjoy good conversation and delicious food. Our Executive Chef, along with our Prep Cooks and Servers team up to provide our residents with a satisfying and delightful experience. All food is prepared in our own kitchen, by our own chefs, using nothing but the best in fresh and local produce, meats, fish and poultry.
Our menu and the dining experience are varied in many ways. We have a weekly “Theme Buffet” which usually compliments a topic that has been incorporated by our Activities Department. This week you may find your appetite being teased by a Hawaiian Luau or a typical Chesapeake Bay Crab Fest.
Our approach to making the meals fun and exciting is balanced by our interest in serving nutritious meals. Each menu cycle is reviewed and approved by a State Registered Dietician. Our Chef’s prepare foods with a low-fat, low-salt diet in mind. We are also aware of the needs of special diets that may need to incorporate a low-sugar/diabetic schedule. We can meet the individual needs of our residents through closely monitoring and participating in a resident’s overall plan of care with their physician. Our nursing and food service staff is in daily communication with any changing needs of diet with any of our residents.
